Bryan Webb looked across the room at the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church’s Family Life Center on Saturday and smiled.

He was pleased to see the passion of the more than 130 people who packed the room to hear experts from across North Texas give their views on how to address the drug problem in Flower Mound, Lewisville and the surrounding communities.

Webb, the Flower Mound councilman who helped set up the event, said the problem is real.

A Community Conversation: Drugs

The Town of Flower Mound will host “A Community Conversation: Drugs” on August 10 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church Life Center, 6101 Morriss Road. The program will feature panel discussions with representatives from local law enforcement; schools; and resource organizations providing residents the opportunity to learn about the drug challenges we face today.

Attendees will also be able to drop off unwanted medications for safe disposal. Refreshments and lunch will also be provided. For more information about “A Community Conversation: Drugs”, please visit www.flower-mound.com/communityconversation or call Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bryan Webb at 972.816.5661.

You’re smarter than that!

This is the last text that Alexander Heit was sending before rolled his car and subsequently died.

last text before crash

You’ve seen the stories.

You know what the consequences can be.

Why do people still text and drive? Stop.

It’s not worth it.
It can wait.
It really can.
