Dear Families, Administrators and Teachers:
The Marcus High School PTSA is continuing our participation in the National PTA School of Excellence program to grow our family-school partnerships and enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students in our community.
As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. We have used your responses from the first survey to implement an action plan for continuous school improvement. Thus far we have:
- Identified the focus for the year of Mental Heath/Social Emotional Support
- Doing this we brought in a speaker to pump up our students and educate them on being their best selves thru having great support systems.
- This same speaker presented to our teachers and parents in the evening on communication.
- PTSA also sponsored the health and wellness fair for the students of Marcus, which was a wonderful success
Now it is time for our second survey! We are proud of what we have accomplished so far, and kindly ask for your feedback once again. Your responses will not only help us show our improvements but will also provide us with more information as we continue to build upon our efforts to enhance family-school partnerships in the future.
Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at this school and complete the survey below. Mark the response that most accurately expresses how you feel about your experience. This survey is completely anonymous. Please complete this survey by 4/15/2022.
Does this sound like a PTA program you’d really like to help with? Join us! Contact Michelle Hernandez at president@marcusptsa.org to learn more!

The Texas Education Agency, under the direction of the governor, recently formed a task force to address teacher retention.
About the announcement, Texas PTA President Suzi Kennon commented.
Tell Gov. Abott“Teacher retention is a real and pressing problem for Texas schools. While we applaud Gov. Abbott for bringing light to this issue and suggesting an approach to help alleviate it, TEA’s task force should be more representative of those who are impacted most – teachers.
While it will be beneficial to learn from superintendent and administrator members of this task force, critical teacher-in-the-classroom feedback is lacking. The best people to help find solutions are the ones who are interacting with our students and doing the job every day.
Texas PTA calls on Gov. Abbott to appoint more teachers to the task force. The stakes are high, and public education is at risk without teachers in the classroom.”
