You’ve seen the stories.

You know what the consequences can be.

Why do people still text and drive? Stop.

It’s not worth it.
It can wait.
It really can.

We Need You!

Would you like to be involved with the Marcus PTSA? There is a misconception that as our kids move into middle and high school that parents do need to be as involved at school. The truth is that this is a critical developmental stage of our kids lives and having you engage at school helps! You’ll have a better idea of what’s happening at the school and your kids will notice. They may say they don’t want you involved, but deep down they’ll appreciate it!

We are in the process of building the slate of candidates for the 2013-14 Marcus PTSA Board. To see what positions we have, click here.

If you have any questions or want to talk about a position, email us nomcom@marcusptsa.org.

Thank You,

PTSA Meeting Tonight

Join us for a brief PTSA meeting tonight starting at 6:45p in the Marcus auditorium. Our main business will be to elect our 2013 nominating committee.

PTSA MeetingThe purpose of the nominating committee is to recognize and seek qualified nominees for the elected leadership of the Marcus PTSA. The members of the committee, therefore, have a tremendous influence on the future of the PTA and should be selected carefully. Serving on a nominating committee is an honor and a privilege. This committee is the PTSAs most influential internal body, and because it deals with sensitive issues, deliberations of this committee are kept confidential.

Committee members should have a broad acquaintance with the membership and an understanding of the organization’s functions and purposes. The committee should include both experienced leadership and newer members.

The Nominating Committee is responsible for:

  • Seeking applicants interested in a position on the PTSA Board for the subsequent school year
  • Reviewing and discussing the applicants’ qualifications
  • If there is more than one applicant for any board position, the nominating committee then votes to determine which candidate is most qualified for the position
  • At the PTSA meeting where the board members are elected, the nominating committee officially nominates all selected candidates for final vote by the assembly

Principal, Marcus High School
Marcus High School is an incredible school due to all the stakeholders. As teachers and parents, we are creating an opportunity for our students to excel in multiple areas such as academics, athletics, and the fine arts. PTSA works as a bridge between Marcus and our community of parents and students. As a strong supporter of public education, PTSA supports our school as an advocate and resource. Marcus PTSA is a strong contributor and helps put together our school homecoming, programs to battle drug/alcohol abuse, student scholarships, and so much more. We are partners, and we look forward to many years of support from Marcus PTSA.
